Marie "Mouse" Friend, a life-long Toledo resident, passed away on September 4, 2023, at the age of 72.
Mouse's greatest passion in life was caring for children. After staying home to raise her own children, she worked for many years as a nanny caring for the children of others.
In addition to her parents, Robert Powell Sr. and Bertha David, she was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Howard "Lee" Friend, and her brother, Robert Powell Jr. Mouse is survived by her children, Thomas (Patti) LaPlant and Susan (Robert) Harris; stepdaughter, Sarah Friend; grandchildren, Tyler LaPlant and Paige (Corey) Richards; step-grandchildren, Scotty and Isaac Friend; sister, Linda Powell, as well as dear friend, Kathy Cowell and special sister-in-law, Marianne Perez.
In lieu of flowers, family suggests memorial contributions to Hospice of Northwest Ohio or the American Cancer Society.
The family will receive guests on Saturday, September 9, 2023 from 11:00 am until 12:00 pm at the Newcomer Funeral Home - Southwest Chapel, 4752 Heatherdowns Blvd, Toledo, Ohio, where a Funeral Service will begin at 12:00 pm. Interment will be private.
