Marian J. Stewart

Marian J. Stewart, 78, passed away peacefully on June 15th, 2011 at Hospice of Northwest Ohio - Toledo. She was born on November 18th, 1932 to the late Betty (Warren) and Rutherford Asher in Flat Lick, KY.

Marian graduated from Evarts High School in 1950. She married Glenn Stewart on April 12th, 1952. Marian retired from Riverside Hospital after 38 years in Medical Records. She enjoyed trips with her family and friends to Las Vegas. Marian loved to gamble and play the lottery. She played Bunco with the same group of ladies for 48 years. Marian liked to spend time with her family; she was especially fond of her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, Marian was preceded in death by her brothers, Rutherford Asher, Jr., Glen Asher; sister, Carol Wynn and sister-in-law, Roberta Asher. Left to cherish her memory is her loving husband of 58 years, Glenn; daughters, Mitzi (Gary – deceased) Nowakowski, Victoria (Michael) Thompson; son, Jeffery (Elizabeth) Stewart; siblings, Ralph (Alice) Asher, Don (Pat) Asher, Mildred (Paul – deceased) Sweet, Judith (Robert) Miller; sister-in-law, Carol Asher; brother-in-law, Vernon Wynn; grandchildren, Jason (Megan), Damian, Laura and Evan Stewart, Brandon and Brent (Mallorie) Nowakowski, Cassandra Thompson, Danielle (Mark) Wilhelm; great-grandchildren, Andrew, Anthony, Carter and Taylor Nowakowski and many other loving family members and friends.

The family will receive guest on Friday from 2-8:00 p.m. at Newcomer Funeral Home, 4752 Heatherdowns Blvd., Toledo (419-381-1900). Funeral Services will begin at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday in the funeral home. Visitation from 10-11:00 a.m. on Saturday prior to service. Procession to Lake Township Cemetery following the service.
