Maria M. Straube

Maria M. Straube, age 83, of Toledo, passed away Sunday, August 10, 2008 at the Toledo Hospital. She was born August 10, 1925 to Joseph and Josefa Brinkskelle in Yugoslavia. Maria immigrated to the United Sates in 1950. She was a longtime member of Memorial Lutheran Church. Maria loved to cook and bake all kinds of cookies and special delights for her family and friends. Even more cherished was watching them enjoy those treats.

In addition to her parents, Maria was preceded in death by her husband, Werner W. Straube in 2004. She is survived by her sons, Christopher and his wife Shelley Straube and their children, Katelyn; Kyle and Conner, all of Holland, OH and Werner and his wife Lori Straube and their daughter, Adriane, of Chicago. Also surviving are Maria's sisters, Molly Jasion and Frieda Recknagel, both of Toledo.

The family will receive guests Tuesday from 3-8:00 p.m. at Newcomer Funeral Home, 4150 W. Laskey Rd. (419-473-0300). Funeral Services will begin Wednesday at 10:30 a.m. in the funeral home. Officiating will be Pastor Craig Scholl. Interment will follow in Ottawa Hills Memorial Park.
