Margy M. Lane

Margy M. Lane, age 62 of Point Place, passed away Sunday, September 5th, 2010 from injuries from an auto accident. She was born June 1st, 1948 to Roy and Margaret (Mertes) Kaspitzke in Toledo. Margy was a graduate of Cardinal Stritch High School, Class of 1966. She married Robert F. "Bob" Lane on May 4th, 1973 at Scared Heart Church in Toledo and together they spent 37 wonderful years. Margy attended Mercy School of Nursing, where she received her LPN degree. She began her career as an LPN at Mercy Hospital before taking a fulltime position in the Physical Therapy Departmentat at the VA Clinic on Glendale Ave. where she retired from after 10 years of service . Margy was a collector of frog and cat memorabilia which she proudly displayed throughout her home. She also enjoyed taking long walks everyday and was an active participant in the Breast Cancer Awareness walks every year in downtown Toledo. Margy was an avid fan of the Cleveland Browns and Ohio State Buckeyes football teams, as well as a Dale Earnhart, Sr. fan. She also enjoyed camping with her family, listening to country music, playing bingo and taking trips with her husband to the area casinos. Margy's greatest joys were her family, cherishing the time she spent with her husband, children and especially her grandchildren.

Margy was joined in death by her husband, Robert F. Lane. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her sister, Loretta Kapp and special friend, Mimi Tidwell. Margy is survived by her daughter, Michelle (Ron) Sedlock; son, Richard Lane; grandchildren, Hallie Marie and Devin Roy Sedlock; brothers, Frank Kaspitzke and Tom (Christina) Kaspitzke; her dear friend who was like a sister, Sharon King and many nieces and nephews.

The family will receive guests Thursday from 2-9:00 p.m. at Newcomer Funeral Home, 4150 W. Laskey Rd. (419-473-0300). Funeral Services will begin Friday with a Private Prayer Service for the Family at the funeral home. Guests are invited to join the family Friday at 11:00 a.m. at Regina Coeli Catholic Church, 530 Regina Parkway for a Mass of Christian Burial. Officiating will be Fr. James Auth. Interment will follow in Calvary Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that all contributions be made to a charity of the Donor's Choice.
