Marguerite Eleanorpollex Faulkner

Marguerite Eleanor Pollex Faulkner departed this life at the age of 92 on March 12, 2014 peacefully in her home surrounded by her family. Marguerite "Maggie" was born on March 5, 1922 the eldest daughter of Robert and Edna Pollex. She was an adored daughter, wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.
A lifelong resident of Toledo, Maggie graduated from Libby High School in 1940. A woman of style she trained and worked as a cosmetologist before marrying her beloved husband Robert Pershing "Bob" in 1942. After raising two children she returned to work at the University of Toledo as a Records Secretary, retiring in 1992 after 25 years of service.
Together with her husband, a well know area sailor and businessman, Maggie was an active member of the Maumee River Yacht Club. She was also one of the original patrons of the Toledo Opera. She enjoyed gardening, cooking, and especially baking and was always a gracious hostess entertaining with a sense of charm and humor. Maggie was also a member of the Trinity Episcopal Church Women's Auxiliary, Toledo Women's Skating Club, the Anthony Wayne Garden Club, Towne Club of Toledo, and various dance clubs. In later years, she was a member of the Saint Paul's Episcopal Church in Maumee.
Throughout her life she enjoyed many wonderful visits with her family in New England.
She is preceded in death by her husband Robert; brothers Bob, Chuck, and Jack Pollex; sisters Eilleen Steingrub, Betty Lincoln. She is survived by her daughter Bonnie Faulkner of Essex, Mass.; son Bob Faulkner of Toledo; granddaughter Amelia Irose (Mark); grandson John Burkhart (Alessandra); step-granddaughter Emily Wason (Ray) and step-grandson Robert Wason (Emma); four great-grandchildren and four step great-grandchildren; sisters, Pat Creekmore, Florence Hayhurst, Sue Bibo, and her devoted sister Nancy Shelton.
Visitation will be held from 4:00 – 7:00 p.m. on Sunday, March 16th at Newcomer Family Funeral Home, 4752 Heatherdowns Blvd., Toledo (419-381-1900). A service will take place on Monday, March 17th at 11:00 a.m. at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers donations to a charity of one's choice in Maggie's honor are appreciated.
