Margarita Ballesteros

Margarita "Maggie" (Soto) Ballesteros, age 66, of Toledo passed away at her daughter's home surrounded by her loving family, Friday, June 2, 2006. She was born September 2, 1939 to Epifanio and Preciliana (Constante) Soto in Laredo, Texas. She was a nurses' aide with Cherry Hill Nursing Home and Golden Haven Nursing Home for more than 20 years. Margarita and her husband Valentin were longtime Toledo residents just recently retiring to Texas 5 years ago. She loved to craft, especially ceramics. Most importantly, Margarita cherished the time she spent with her family and friends.

In addition to her mother, Margarita was preceded in death by her brothers, John and Fidencio Soto and sister, Maria Guadalupe Arredondo. Margarita is survived by her loving husband of 46 years, Valentin Ballesteros; father, Epifanio Soto of Laredo, TX; children, Guadalupe Ballesteros; Maria (Jaime) Banda; Alma (John) Ranker of Clearfield, UT; Aida (Louis) Morin; Diane (Daryl) Houston; Valentin (Robin) Ballesteros, Jr. and Aliza Taft; 22 grandchildren; 8 great grandchildren (with 2 on the way); brothers, Domingo (Mali) Soto and Robert (Connie) Soto; mother-in-law, Violante Ballesteros of Laredo, TX; sister-in-law, Hortense Soto; special cousin and friends, Maria and Jesse Oyerbides; Annette Ramey and Kevin Chadwick and many nieces, nephews, cousins and dear friends.

The family will receive guests Tuesday from 2-8:00 p.m. at the Newcomer Funeral Home, 4150 W. Laskey Rd. (419-473-0300) with a Rosary at 7:00 p.m. Funeral Services will begin Wednesday at 9:00 a.m. in the funeral home followed by a Mass of Christian Resurrection at 10:00 a.m. at St. Hedwig Church, 2916 Lagrange St. Officiating will be Fr. Robert Reinhart.



The family would like to give a special thank you to Judy Opiel and staff with Hospice for the loving care and support they provided.

In lieu of flowers Memorial Contributions may be made in Maggie's name to Hospice of Northwest Ohio.
