Margaret "Peggy" Walters, age 90, of Waterville and formerly of Lockport New York, passed away on Sunday, August 28, 2016 at Heartland of Waterville. Margaret was born on March 6, 1926 in Belfast, N. Ireland to William and Jane (Mearns) Hill.
While in Belfast during World War II, she made the uniforms for the British soldiers. She immigrated from Ireland with her husband and three children in 1959 to Lockport, NY. She was employed with the Lockport Memorial Hospital for more than 20 years as a Medical Technician, retiring in 1990. In 1991 she moved to Ohio to be closer to her children and grandchildren. Some of her passions included sewing, knitting, traveling, singing as well as being very active in the Maumee Senior Center.
In addition to her parents, Margaret was also preceded in death by her loving husband of 27 years, Walter Robinson; son, Ivan Robinson and brother, Gilbert Hall. She is survived by her daughter, Lorna P. Schumacher; son, Alan (Lynda) Robinson; husband, Robert Walters; grandchildren, Wendy Czenszak, Kristy (Brian) Heath, Kerry (Matt) Koster, Kelly (Eric) Blevins, Tony (Jackie) Robinson, Ryan (Nicole) Schumacher and Caitlin (Jon) Jett; twelve great-grandchildren; best friend, Irene Fairchild; family friends; numerous nieces and nephews.
The family will receive guests on Wednesday, August 31, 2016 from 4-6:00 p.m. at Newcomer Funeral Home, 4150 W. Laskey Rd., (419-473-0300). Her Memorial Service will follow in the funeral home on Wednesday at 6:00 p.m.
