Margaret Schmidt

Margaret Virginia Schmidt, age 96, of Toledo, passed away surrounded by family on January 1, 2015 at Lake Park. Margaret was born January 21, 1918 in Toledo to Carl and Veronica (Kirchner) Soldwish. She graduated from and met her husband at Central Catholic High School. Margaret was a past parishioner of St. Clement Catholic Church. In her younger years she was employed as a secretary at the Willys Overland factory and also at the Fannie Farmer candy store. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother.

In addition to her parents, Margaret was also preceded in death by her loving husband Francis, grandson Gary, brothers James and Charles and her sister, Isabelle. She is survived by her daughters Kathryn (Charles) Strzesynski, Mary Ostrosky and Elizabeth (Paul) Cook, grandchildren Steve, John, Tom, Jeff and Kellie, great grandchildren Thomas, Katie, Kyle, Kurt, Kris, Andy, Ryan, Tony, Sara, Tristyn and Skylar.

The family will receive guests Monday, January 5, 2015 from 3:00 pm - 8:00 pm at Newcomer Funeral Home - NW Chapel, 4150 W. Laskey Rd. (419-473-0300). Funeral Services will begin Tuesday at 10:00 am. in the funeral home followed by burial at Calvary Cemetery.
