Margaret Rose Reissig

Margaret Rose (Jenne) Reissig, 84, passed away on February 4th in Holland, Michigan. “Marge” was born in Toledo, Ohio on February 2, 1941 to Russell and Margaret (Skeels) Jenne. She graduated from Whitmer High School in 1959 and worked at Ohio Bell. She married Donald Hartsel in 1960. In addition to being a dedicated mother, she worked as a real estate agent, office manager and lighting consultant during the 1960s and 70s. She married Charles Reissig in 1972. She was an interior designer at Ethan Allen in Sylvania, Ohio when she married Dr. Marvin Gottlieb in 1983.

Marge was an avid gardener, poet and artist who also enjoyed cooking, music, interior decorating, and frequent travel around the country to visit her family. Marge was an exceptionally loving and vivacious person who cared deeply for all of her family and friends, especially her children. She took any opportunity to point out the beauty in others and in the world around her. Marge was upbeat, humorous, brilliant and unforgettable.

Marge is survived by her daughter Holly Hartsel, son-in-law Kurt Reineman, and grandchildren Emma, Ashton and Alex Reineman; son CDR Steven Hartsel, USN (Ret.) and grandchildren Connor and Cassandra Hartsel; sister Barbara (Jenne) Overholt and her children James, Scott and Todd Myers, and Robin (Myers) Axe; and stepsons Joel and Robert Gottlieb. She was preceded in death by her brother Brian Jenne and nephew Kevin Myers.

A Memorial Open House celebrating Marge's life will be held on Friday, May 2nd from 3pm to 7pm at the Farmhouse at Wildwood, 4830 W. Central Ave., Toledo, OH 43615. 

In lieu of flowers, those interested may donate to the Toledo Metroparks or PBS.
