Margaret Marie Langenderfer

Mrs. Margaret "Peggy" (Harbauer) Langenderfer, age 79, of Toledo passed away Tuesday, January 2, 2007 in the arms of her husband in St. Vincent Mercy Medical Center. She was born April 28, 1927 to Eugene W. and Nettie May (Harwick) Harbauer in Toledo. Peggy graduated from Central Catholic High School in Toledo in 1945. During her time there Peggy played the leading role in her senior class play "What a Life". She was also on the school paper and yearbook committee. Peggy was the president of the St. Hilda Guild her senior year. During her junior and senior years Peggy was in the Guard of Honor. Having taken four years of art she worked on stage drops and did the make-up for the operettas and plays. After graduation Peggy was employed with the former Advance Glove Mfg. as the office "Girl Friday". She played a key role in the formation of the Toledo Police Post #512 and the American Legion Auxilary. Peggy was the auxilary's very first president with a two year term in 1957. She served on the executive board and was the chairman of many of the legion auxiliary committees.

In addition to her parents, Peggy was preceded in death by her brother, Laurence H. Harbauer. She is survived by her loving husband of 59 years, Dick Langenderfer, Sr., who retired from the Toledo Police Department in 1976; sons, Richard Jr. (Cindy); Robert (Kathy); Ronald (Elaine) and Rodney (Patrizia) Langenderfer; daughter, Michelle "Shelly" (Dave) Steer; brother, John Harbauer of Las Vegas, NV; sisters, Mrs. Jean Harlow of Toledo and Mrs. Mary McCartney of Toledo; 13 grandchildren; 6 great grandchildren and 3 sisters-in-law.

The family will receive guests Sunday from 2-9:00 p.m. at Newcomer Funeral Home, 4150 W. Laskey Rd. (419-473-0300) where a Rosary will be recited at 7:30 p.m. Funeral Services will begin Monday at 9:15 a.m. at the funeral home with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 a.m. at Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church, 4227 Bellevue. Officiating will be Fr. Patrick Rohen. Interment will follow in Ottawa Hills Memorial Park.

The family requests that any tributes be made in the name of "The Peggy Langenderfer Scholarship Fund" c/o Toledo Schwaben Verien, Herman Schmalzried, Oak Shade Grove, 3624 Seaman St. Oregon, OH 43616.
