Margaret Jean Gosses (nee Crandall) of Perrysburg, Ohio passed away on December 10, 2013. She did not want her age mentioned in her Obituary, as she always said it was between her and heaven.
Margaret, the daughter of Ronald Clare Crandall and Alice Mae Gilbert Crandall, was born in Ft. Wayne, Indiana. In the 1930's the family moved to Toledo, Ohio where Margaret graduated from Scott High School, and attended Davis Business College. In 1945, she married Menno "Mel" Gosses, and they settled in Chicago, Illinois where Margaret worked as private secretary to the President of the Greyhound Lines.
The couple moved back to Toledo to start their family, and she worked as a secretary in the Toledo school system. When her sons were older, she attended Mary Manse College, and earned her Masters degree in Art at the U of T. She then taught Art and English in Toledo schools.
After she and Menno retired, they spent much of the year in their mountain home in Tennessee, where Margaret volunteered in the Adult Literacy Program.
Margaret was a member of Daughters of The American Revolution (DAR) and several Red Hat groups. She was the family historian, and was very involved in Art. She had a creative, questioning mind, and was always seeking new experiences,
She is preceded in death by her parents, her brother Richard Clare Crandall, and her husband of 67 years, Menno Gosses. She is survived by her sons; Ronald (Diana) of Kentucky, Gordon (Betty) of Florida, and Martin (Jenifer) of Amhurst, Ohio; her grandchildren, Christopher (Josh), Matthew (Amy), Justin, Anna Jo (Jeff), and Sara; three great grandchildren, Kara, Reagan and Jackson; all of whom miss her already.
