Margaret (Davis) Donnell passed this life on Monday, November 5, 2012 at the Ridgewood Manor Nursing Home in Maumee, Ohio. She was born in Toledo, Ohio June 17, 1931 to Almer and Earl Hayes. Her foster parents were Minnie Viola Smith and Charles Smith.
She was preceded in death by her parents, foster parents, siblings, and foster brother, Jesse Smith.
Margaret was a born again Christian and regularly attended Union Grove Missionary Baptist Church until her health declined. She was a member for approximately 60 years. Earlier in her membership she sang in the choir.
After attending Gunckel Elementary School, she graduated from Scott High School both in Toledo.
As an "expert dry cleaner" at Commodore Perry Hotel and Supreme Cleaners, that was just the beginning of her work career. She continued by being employed as a group leader at Blue Cross Blue Shield in the Environmental Services Department. However her favorite job was working at the E.O.P.A. as a Senior Broker, providing outreach services for fellow senior citizens.
Her first love was the Lord Jesus Christ, then her dedication and love for her family and friends. Margaret would do whatever she could to give support, encouragement and love to those in need. She made many sacrifices for others.
Margaret's hobbies were shopping, sewing clothes, watching westerns on t.v. and going out to dinner.
She leaves to cherish her memory, daughter, Marcella Davis; son, George (Wendy) Davis; grandchildren, many great-grandchildren and other extended family and friends. Special friends include Leo and Ola Grace, Ruth Mar, Zenobia Woodward, Barbara and Ron Garrett and Mrs. James.
The family will receive guests Saturday, November 10, 2012 from 10:00 a.m. – 11:00 a.m. at the Union Grove Missionary Baptist Church, 3232 Nebraska Ave, Toledo, Ohio 43607. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. in the church. Interment will follow in Historic Woodlawn Cemetery.
