Marcus M. Harris

Marcus Mekeal Harris passed away unexpectedly on July 21, 2024, at the age of 32. He was Born on May 16, 1992 in Toledo, Ohio, to Tiffany (Thie) McKimmy and Jesse Lopez. He graduated from Genoa High School and pursued his passion for Welding at Owen’s Community College.

Marcus is Preceded in death by his father, Jesse, Uncle John J. Lopez and grandparents; Deborah (Thie) Murrell, Yolanda (Martinez) Lopez, and Juan J. Lopez. 

Marcus is survived by his mother, Tiffany, his siblings Rita (Harris) Keaton, Selena Harris, Cassius Harris, Merilda Harris, and Angelica Lopez; uncles Joshua Lopez, Simon Cortez and Russell Trombley; aunts Silvia Sandoval, Regina Trombley, and Claudia Cortez; grandfather, Nick Lopez, as well as many nieces, nephews, cousins, and other extended family and friends. If you knew Marcus, he had such a big heart and a protective mindset. He leaves behind a family that he shared precious memories with. Marcus loved his classic older cars he would say there’s something about them that the car could really be something if someone put a little TLC into it. Marcus’s laugh was infectious and hearty. He was known for his silly jokes and playful attitude. He also really enjoyed watching The Saints Football team play. 

A visitation will be held on Friday, August 2, 2024 from 11:00 a.m. until 2:00 p.m. with a funeral service immediately following, at 2:00 p.m. at Newcomer Funeral Home - Southwest Chapel at 4752 Heatherdowns Blvd. Toledo, OH 43614.

Marcus will be laid to rest at a later date at Mt. Carmel Cemetery. 

Marcus Mekeal Harris will be deeply missed by all who knew him. His spirit, characterized by warmth, and a genuine love for his siblings and will continue to live on in the hearts of his family, friends, and all the lives he touched.
