Marcus J. Arredondo, age 33, of Toledo, Ohio passed away Thursday, July 5, 2012 in the Hospice of Northwest Ohio, Perrysburg surrounded by his loving family and friends. He was born November 15, 1978 in Toledo to Gustavo and Gloria (Casarez) Arredondo. Marcus graduated from St. John's Jesuit High School in 1997, and then attended the Ohio State University where he served as President of his fraternity, Alpha Psi Lambda, receiving his Bachelor Degree in Business in 2002. Marcus was diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis in 2004 and courageously battled it and lived his life to the fullest. He taught in Laredo, Texas for two years and then he spent the last three years teaching his family and friends the value of living life one day at a time. Marcus had a radiating spirit that touched many lives. He lived his life with tremendous faith and walked the path that God had marked for him.
Left to cherish his memory is his father, Gustavo Arredondo; siblings, Gerardo (Patricia Basil) Arredondo, Cindy (Dave) Geronimo and Lisa (Rick) Akeman; nieces and nephews, Tiffany Akeman, David Michael and Ciara Geronimo; several aunts, uncles and cousins in Texas; and many good friends, especially, Angie and Marcos. Marcus was preceded in death by his mother, Gloria Arredondo and grandparents.
The family will receive guests Sunday, July 8, 2012 from 2:00 – 8:00 p.m. in the Newcomer Funeral Home, 4752 Heatherdowns Blvd. Toledo, where a Scripture Service will be held at 7:00 p.m. Funeral services will begin Monday, July 9, 2012 at 10:15 a.m. in the funeral home followed by the Funeral Mass at 11:00 a.m. in Our Lady of Perpetual Help Church. Interment will follow in Restlawn Memorial Park Cemetery.
