Marcella M. Hatcher, age 82 of Toledo, passed away July 28 at Kingston of Sylvania surrounded by her loving family. She was born March 4, 1932 in Toledo to Carroll and Frances (Schafer) Harris. She was a 1950 graduate of Whitmer High School where she was a majorette. She married Louis V. Hogan in 1953 and had two daughters, Sheryl and Leslie. In 1981, she was married to Burley Hatcher. They were active at Boulevard Church of Christ and later at Calvary Bible Chapel. After retirement, they spent many years as snowbirds until her illness. She was a secretary and was employed by Bedford Community Education under Jerry Wing. She also volunteered at Flower Hospital transporting patients to and from outpatient surgery. Marcie loved to cook, sew, take care of her family, and she adored her grandchildren.
Surviving is her loving husband, Burley, daughters Sheryl (Gary) Kenczewicz and Leslie (Rick) Olejownik, step-daughters Beverly Hatcher (Dave Cameron) and Jennifer (Dan) McCarthy, step-son Dave Hatcher (Stephanie Hatley), grandchildren, J.J. and Jared Kenczewicz, Derrick Olejownik, step-grandchildren Ashley Cameron (Trevor Newby), Amanda White, Tara and Eli Coker, Cormac McCarthy, Elaine Ulery (Adam), and Christian Hatcher-James, and brother Ron (Marty) Harris. She is preceded in death by her parents.
The family would like to give a special "Thanks" to the wonderful caregivers at Kingston of Sylvania.
The family will receive guests on Sunday from 3– 7:00 p.m. at the Newcomer Funeral Home, 4150 W. Laskey Rd. (419-473-0300). Funeral Services will take place Monday in the funeral home at 10:00 a.m. Interment will follow at Ottawa Hills Memorial Park.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions to Hospice of Northwest Ohio or to Calvary Bible Chapel. Rest in peace Mom, you deserve it!!!
