Mable C. Young

Mabel C. Young, resident of Toledo, OH left this Earth to join her Lord and Savior on August 24, 2024, at age 93. Born to the union of Eardis and Luvenia Cummings on July 1, 1931 in Guntown, MS. She was a faithful member of Upper Room Tabernacle Church for many years. She received Christ as her Lord and Savior at a very early age, this was always important to Mabel. In her early years, Mabel moved from Mississippi with her husband to Toledo where she went on to raise her 16 children. Later in life, Mabel spent time watching Andy Griffith and her gospel shows, she was great cook and she enjoyed sewing. Mabel always took pride in her ability to be a homemaker. She always, always took care of her family first.

Mabel has left to cherish her memory her children, James Young, Walter Young, Wallace (Jeanette Faison) Young, Ronald “Jack” (Tracy) Young, Bonnie “Becky” (Tommy) Young-Adams, Charles (Carolyn Ward) Young, Vance (Kim) Young, Virginia “Gail” Young, Vicky Young, Sylvia Young-Neal, Cynthia James-Young, Beverly (Joey) Young-Harris, Terry (Kandice) Young. Sisters, Ella Ruth Sherman, Martha King, and Margie Mister. Mabel leaves behind many grandchildren and great-grandchildren as well as a host of nieces and nephews. Mabel will be dearly missed by all of her family and friends.

Mabel was preceded in death by her husband of 50 years, Bonnie Lee Young. Her children, Charles Wayne Young, Bobby Edward Young, and Veronica Lisa Hicks; brothers, Dill Cummings, Leodis Cummings, Idell Cummings, her twin brother, Melvin Cummings, Lee Ernest and James Cummings; sisters, Annie Ransey and Millie Thornton.

The Young Family would like to thank everyone for their love and prayers, as well at the nurses and aides assisting from Hospice of Northwest Ohio for their kind care and compassion.

A visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. on Friday, August 30, 2024 at Upper Room Tabernacle Church at 1123 Navarre Ave. Toledo, OH 43605.

A funeral service will immediately follow, at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, August 30, 2024 at Upper Room Tabernacle Church at 1123 Navarre Ave. Toledo, OH 43605.

Mabel will be laid to rest at Historic Woodlawn Cemetery.
