Mabel M. Demski, age 91, of Toledo, passed away peacefully Saturday, February 18, 2006, at Harborside of Sylvania. She was born on August 18, 1914 to Nicholas and Rose (Bellner) Gedert in Toledo. During WWII, Mabel worked at Champion Spark Plug. She then worked as a florist throughout her life, owning Demski's Greenhouse. Mabel was an avid gardener, who enjoyed creating floral arrangements.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Edmund Demski, brothers, Paul, Alfred and Victor "Jack" Gedert, and sister Eleanor Braithwaite.
She is survived by many nieces and nephews throughout the United States.
The family will receive guests on Friday, February 24, 2006 in the Newcomer Funeral Home, 4150 W. Laskey Rd., (just East of Talmadge Rd.) Toledo (419-473-0300) from 2:00 – 8:00 p.m. with a Scripture Service taking place at 5:00 p.m. Funeral Services will begin Saturday at 8:45 a.m. in the funeral home. A Mass of Christian Burial will take place in Little Flower Catholic Church, 5522 Dorr St. (between Reynolds & Holland-Sylvania) at 9:15 a.m. Officiating will be Father Joe Steinbauer. Interment will follow in Resurrection Cemetery.
