Luvenia Kelly

Luvenia "Lu" Kelly, age 81, of Toledo, passed away peacefully Monday May 20, 2019 at Ebeid Hospice Residence surrounded by her loving family. She was born on August 18, 1937 to T. Arthur Crump and Climerteen (Brooks) Bryant in Brookhaven, Mississippi. Lu worked as a Beautician for many years before retiring in 2004. She loved fishing, gardening and being outdoors. Lu was an excellent cook and baker. She enjoyed spending time with her family especially on Sunday's for family dinners and entertaining for everyone. Lu loved to laugh and had a great sense of humor. Her smile and love will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.

In addition to her father, she was preceded in death by her husband, J.W. Kelly. Luvenia is survived by her mother, Climerteen Bryant; loving children, Teresa Crump, Sandra (Gregory) Wimberly, Deidre Kelly, Tina (Alex) Brown and Jerry (Tracie) Kelly; grandchildren, Shirese, La'keshia (Ryan), Gregory (Chantee), Sherita (Marquain), Shereece, Shanon, Jamila, Shonte', Alex Jr., Josiah, Aramis, Jerry Jr., and Riley; 11 great-grandchildren; sister-in-law, Ruby (Alfred) McWilliams; special friend and caregiver, Mattie Wallace; and many dear friends and relatives.

The family will receive guests on Tuesday, May 28, 2019 from 10 – 11:00 a.m. at Southern Missionary Baptist Church, 1222 Indiana Ave., Toledo 43607 with Funeral Services beginning at 11:00 a.m. at church. Interment will follow in Historic Woodlawn Cemetery.
