Lowry O. "Larry" Prescott, age 85, of Toledo passed away on Thursday, September 6, 2012, where he was surrounded by his loving family. He was born on October 7, 1926 to Hack and Floy (Coleman) Prescott in Florida. Larry proudly served his country in the U.S. Navy during World War II. He was a member of Wesley Methodist church for many years and in his spare time he enjoyed bowling. Throughout the years Larry bowled in various leagues in East Toledo and he also loved to shoot pool.
Left to cherish his memory is his loving wife of 40 years, Marge M. (Fitch) Prescott; Cathy (Glenn) Hathaway, Jack (Marie) Fisher, Carol Brandt and Barb (Wes) Bockert; sister, Joyce (Ron) Lewis; 12 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son, Larry Prescott.
The family will receive guests on Tuesday, September 11, 2012 from 10:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m. at Newcomer Funeral Home, 4150 W. Laskey Rd. (419-473-0300). Funeral Services will begin in the funeral home on Tuesday at 1:00 p.m. Interment will follow in Ottawa Hills Memorial Park.
The family would like to specially thank the nurses and staff at Hospice of Northwest Ohio and the Visiting Nurses and Hospice of Williams and Fulton Counties for the loving care and support they provided to Larry.
