Mr. Lovell Price was born August 30, 1942 in Margaret, Alabama to the union of the late Lovelace and Evelena Price. He departed this life on Tuesday, June 28, 2022 at McLaren St. Luke's Hospital. He was preceded in death by both parents and his sister, Kathryn Randolph.
Lovell relocated to Toledo, Ohio in 1950 and received his formal education at Roosevelt Elementary, Robinson Jr. High School and Jesup W. Scott High School. Lovell enlisted in the United States Army in 1963 and was a Paratropper until 1965 with an honorable discharge and a Reserve obligation until 1969. Lovell then went on to work for Powertrain for over 30 years and retired in 2005. Lovell was a member of the UAW Local 14 and a jack of all trades who also loved gardening, cooking, fishing, talking "crap," dressing to impress and his other favorite hobbies.
Lovell met the love of his life Constance Johnson in 1965 and married in 1967. To this union was two children, Aretha and Kevin Price; three grandchildren, Rayshon Bradford, Taylor Price and Kennedy Griffin; five great-grandchildren, Ashton and Reign Hogue, Ziggy and Zorell Bradford and Mila Garcia.
Lovell leaves to mourn his loss, his wife, children, grandchildren, sisters, Katie (Kenneth) Neal, Karen (Geary) Brake, Toledo, Ohio and Katrina Price, Indianapolis, Indiana; special cousin, Edward Price and a host of other family and friends.
The family will receive guests Friday, July 8, 2022 from 11:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. at Newcomer SW Chapel, 4752 Heatherdowns Blvd., Toledo (419-381-1900). The Funeral Service will be held Friday at 12:00 p.m. in the funeral home with Rev. Dr. W.L. Perryman, Jr. officiating. Private burial will follow at Restlawn Memorial Park Cemetery.
