Louise Marie LaButte, age 81, of Sylvania, Ohio peacefully passed away on June 28, 2024. She was a devoted mother, grandmother, and friend, known for her love of dogs and playing tai chi.
Beloved wife of the late Herbert ‘Herb’ LaButte. She is survived by her son; Jeffrey (Kristen), and daughters; Jennifer (Dennis) Hall, Julie (Andrew) Oberhaus; grandchildren; Dyson, Tucker, Nathan, Amelia, Jade (Brian), Alexander, Levi, Aiden; great grandchildren; Dawson, Xavier, Avery.
Louise was born in Piqua, Ohio to the late Gerald and Mary (Haney) Jenkins. Her father worked as a paper maker and her mother worked for the city of Piqua and taught piano. After losing her father at the young age of nine, she graduated from Piqua Catholic High School in 1961. She went on to work at a doctor’s office and eventually began taking secretarial classes at the University of Dayton.
Louise and Herb married in 1972 and adored their three children. She spent much of her time transporting and supporting her kids in their various activities. In her spare time, she enjoyed painting greenware pottery, playing cards, puzzles, sewing, and traveling with her husband, across the US and abroad. She was a devoted member of Christ the King Catholic Church where she was introduced to tai chi for health. She greatly enjoyed taking weekly tai chi classes at her local YMCA and even attended many tai chi seminars. She also enjoyed playing mah jong each week with several of her friends.
In addition to her husband and parents, she is preceded in death by her grandson Nicholas Hall.

A visitation will be held Saturday, July 6, 2024, from 10:00am ~ 12:00 p.m. with a funeral service to follow at 12:00pm at Newcomer Funeral Home (West Sylvania Chapel), 3655 King Rd. Toledo, OH 43617, (419) 392-9500. Louise will be laid to rest at Resurrection Cemetery.
