Louis J. Therkelsen

November 8, 1940 — June 10, 2014

Louis "Lou" J. Therkelsen, age 73, of Perrysburg, Ohio joined the love of his life, his wife of 42 years, Vicki Therkelsen, June 10, 2014 at his home. He was born November 8, 1940 in Racine, Wisconsin to Emil and Ethel (Burdick) Therkelsen. Lou was employed with Johns Manville for 32 years as a millwright. He also worked as a barber for 10 years at various places. Lou was a friend of Bill W. for 37 years in Perrysburg, Ohio. A member of A.R.C.A., Lou raced cars for about 12 years. His favorite football team is anyone who plays against the Ohio State Buckeyes.

Lou is survived by his son, Marc L. (Tricia Gardner) Therkelsen, step-daughter, Shelly (Tim Nixon) Almroth, step-son, James (Dena) Almroth, step-son, Michael (Annette) Almroth; brother, Timmy Therkelsen; grandson, Jakob Therkelsen; step-grandchildren, Benny and Steven Nixon, Evan and Emma Gardner, Patrik Davison, Carly Almroth, Jeffrey Almroth, Courtney Roepke, Michael Smith; special friend, Eileen Gavigan and k-9 companion, "Daisy."

The family will receive guests, Sunday June 15, 2014 from 2:00 pm - 8:00 pm at Newcomer Funeral Home - SW Chapel, 4752 Heatherdowns Blvd. (419-381-1900).

Memorial contributions may be made to Cherry Street Mission, Hospice of Northwest Ohio or the Toledo Area Humane Society in Lou's memory.
