Louis S. Costell, Jr. age 77, passed away Friday, October 13, 2023 at St. Vincent Mercy Health Center. The son of Louis, Sr and Martha (Yedica), he was born March 22, 1946. He attended Scott High School and graduated from Springfield High School. After graduation, he enlisted in U.S. Army and reach the rank of E-5 before being honorably discharged. Lou worked for Champion Spark Plug in several positions including supervisor of shipping and receiving. In 1987 he began working with Buckeye Cable and was there 25 years, retiring as supervisor. He was a huge OSU fan and member of the Old Newsboys. Lou enjoyed traveling, playing Euchre and the slots. He will be remembered for many things especially his kindness and great sense of humor.
He is survived by his loving wife of 36 years, Linda; siblings, Marsha (Carl) Adkins of Iowa, Larry (Linda) Costell of Toledo, Gary (Karen) Costell of Toledo, Kathy (John) Bomia of Holland; special sister & brother-n -law, Lee and Mike Mertz; children, Jennifer Stearns, Andrew (Kim) Costell, Joseph (Kim) Costell; son-in-law, Barry Williams of Perrysburg; daughters by love, Allie and Tara Louise; sister-in-law, Rosemary Price of Tuscon; aunt, Anne Beck of Archbold; father-in-law, Dale Przeslawski; special aunt, Sandra Craley of Mark Center; grandchildren, Emily, Austin, Andrew, Hunter and Sophia; many great grandchildren, nieces & nephews; special friends and partners in crime, Andy & Linda Mayberry; and all his special Columbus, OH friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, daughter, Lindsey Williams; brother, Robert Costell.
The family will receive friends on Wednesday, October 18, 2023 from 2:00-6:00 p.m. with a service at 6:00 p.m. Newcomer Funeral-Southwest Chapel 4752 Heatherdowns Blvd Toledo, OH 43614 is assist the family with arrangements.
