Louie "Sparky" Espinosa Sr., age 72, resident of Toledo, Ohio, passed away on Wednesday, June 2, 2021, at Hospice of Northwest Ohio, in Toledo. He was born on November 18, 1948, in Toledo, Ohio, to the late Tomas and Alice (Sarabia) Espinosa.
Louie had worked for Jeep, retiring after 31 years. He loved watching the Ohio State buckeyes and the Houston Astros. A love for football and baseball, he was a coach for NTOFA Stickney School. Louie enjoyed dancing, listening to Mexican music, gardening, watching old westerns, and campfires. He liked cooking and grilling; he liked eggs, tortillas, and pandulse. Louie was a 3x Menudo soup winner of a cook off he would have with friends. He was full of life. He loved family get-togethers and cherished the time spent with them. He was very proud of his children of all of their accomplishments in life. Louie will truly be missed by all who knew him.
Those left to forever cherish his memory are his loving wife, Ginger (Yarad) Espinosa, whom he married on July 12, 1996; eight children, Louie (Jeanette) Espinosa Jr., Henry (Laurie) Espinosa, Elisa (Rusty) Sloan, Oscar (Ashley) Espinosa, Renee (Todd) Wozniak, Arthur Espinosa (Amanda), Raymond (Amber) Espinosa, Laura Espinosa (Jacob); many grandchildren and great grandchildren; two brothers, Ray (Diana) Guardiola and Oscar Guardiola; and a brother-in-law, Domingo Ortega.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his two brothers, Tom Espinosa and Henry Guardiola and a sister, Frances Ortega.
Family and friends may gather at the Newcomer Funeral Home, 4150 West Laskey Road, Toledo, Ohio, 43623, on Tuesday, June 8, 2021, from 2:00 pm – 7:00 pm.
