Lorraine A. Larson
April 30, 1926 — December 15, 2016
Lorraine A. Larson, age 90, of Toledo, left this world on December 13th, 2016 at Sunset Village Retirement Home, Sylvania, Ohio. Lorraine was born, April 30th, 1926 in Evanston, Illinois to Esther (Erickson) and Arthur Anderson.
Lorraine is survived by her four children, Jack (Eileen) of Downers Grove, IL, Dave (Terri Sue) of Broken Arrow, OK , Greg (Lindy) of Pryor Lake, MN and Kim (Scott) Lockhart of Temperance, MI. Grandchildren, Amber, Rebecca, Tim, Kris, Nicolle, Ross, Craig & Wyatt were blessed to call her grandmother, as were 2 great-grandchildren, Timothy and Emmalyn. She leaves her cat and faithful companion, Thomas D, in the loving care of her daughter. In addition to her parents, Lorraine was preceded in death by her devoted husband, Lars I. Larson.
Lorraine was known for her wry sense of humor, her ability to do most anything from knitting socks to fixing a car and her deep love for her husband, children and friends. She always wanted the best for her family and that dedication to her family showed in all she did.
In her younger years, Lorraine enjoyed swimming, sewing, home projects and vacations in Wisconsin with her family. She was selfless, always of service to friends old and new. For those who knew her, Lorraine will be remembered as a dedicated homemaker, loving mother and caring person. She leaves a legacy of touching many lives and her spirit will live on through her family and friends.
The family will hold a memorial for Lorraine on Saturday, December 17th, 2016 at the Chapel in Sunset Village, 9640 Sylvania-Metamora Rd, Sylvania, OH 43560. Visitation will begin at 9:00 a.m. and a brief memorial will follow at 10:00 a.m. Pastor Ron Winslow of Zion Lutheran Church, Ottawa Lake, Michigan, will officiate.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Promedica Hospice to whom the family is eternally grateful for their loving support and guidance during Lorraine's final days on this earth. May she rest in peace.
