Lorraine T. "Laurie" Castellucio, a devoted wife of 54 years to her husband Frank, passed away after a long battle with cancer on January 16, 2024 at Hospice of Northwest Ohio, Toledo. She was born on March 30, 1947 to Edward and Helen Kotlewski in Toledo, Ohio. With a Master's Degree in English, Lorraine devoted herself to educating students at colleges and at Heidelberg University in Tiffin, Ohio teaching ESL in a career that spanned more than 20 years.
Known for her artistic talents in painting and photography, Laurie enjoyed sharing her creative spirit with those around her. Her love for gardening and animals reflected her appreciation for nature. She leaves a void in the hearts of her family, especially her cherished grandchildren whom she loved and adored; they affectionately knew her as "Grandma Rainbow".
Laurie had a strong relationship with Jesus. She left a legacy of love, faith, and creativity that will be remembered by all who knew and loved her. Her smile, spirit and caring nature will truly be missed by all.
She was preceded in death by her parents. Left to cherish Laurie's memory are her beloved and loving husband, Frank; children, Howard Castellucio, Andrew Castellucio, Gina Castellucio, Simon Castellucio, and Chrissy Castellucio-Jones; 7 grandchildren; and many dear friends.
The family will receive guests on Tuesday, January 23, 2024 from 2:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. at Newcomer Funeral Home – Northwest Chapel, 4150 W. Laskey Rd., Toledo (419-473-0300). Funeral Services will begin Wednesday, January 24, 2024 at 10:00 a.m. in the funeral home. Interment will follow in Ottawa Hills Memorial Park.
