Lorin R. Morrin, 85, passed away peacefully on December 6, 2012. He was born on April 11, 1927 in Erie, Michigan to the late A.C. and Beatrice Morrin.
Lorin started working as a general laborer, became a machinist and worked his way up to Plant Manager at Abbey Etna Machine Company in Perrysburg. He retired after 46 years of service. Lorin enjoyed wood-working and shooting. Lorin and his late wife, Irene spent over 40 years vacationing at Clark Lake; fishing, boating and skiing. He was a devoted family man and deeply dedicated to his Catholic faith; Lorin's priorites were God, family and work.
In addition to his parents and wife of 60 years, Irene, Lorin was preceded in death by his grandson, Matthew F. Morris; brothers, Robert, Vernon, William and Arlen. Left to cherish his memory are his children, Marie (David) Morris, Lorin "Skip" (Leslie), Christine (Kevin) Smith; sister, Beverly Wonnell; grandchildren, Mark (Jamie) Morris, Lucas and Lee Morrin, Jason and Joshua McJennett and 6 great-grandchildren.
The family will receive guests on Tuesday from 2-8:00 p.m. at Newcomer Funeral Home, 4150 W. Laskey Rd., Toledo (419-473-0300). Rosary Service will begin at 7:00 p.m. Funeral Mass will be held on Wednesday at 10:00 a.m. at Christ the King Catholic Church, 4100 Harvest Lane, Toledo. Final Prayers will begin at 9:30 a.m. in the funeral home, prior to Mass. Interment in Ravine Cemetery, Sylvania.
