Lorie A. Havey, age 49, died unexpectedly Saturday, July 6, 2013 in her home. She was born on September 16, 1963 to L. Elton and Norma (Ruby) Hendershot in Kalkaska, Michigan. Lorie worked as a waitress for many years. She was a longtime member of Lewis Avenue Baptist Church. Lorie was an avid NASCAR fan, especially of Jimmie Johnson. She was an excellent seamstress, cook and baker; making the best pies around. Lorie was very crafty, liked antiques and music of all kinds. She loved entertaining, camping and being in the outdoors. Lorie loved nothing more than the time spent with her family. She was a loving, faithful, devoted wife, mother, sister and friend who will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.
She was preceded in death by her parents. Lorie is survived by her loving husband of 32 years, Richard Havey; daughters, Christy and April Havey; sisters, Lisa Hendershot, Tammy Dodge and Amy Hendershot; brother, Dave Hendershot; and many other relatives and dear friends.
The family will receive guests on Thursday from 4 – 9:00 p.m. at Newcomer Funeral Home, 4150 W. Laskey Rd., Toledo (419-473-0300). Funeral Services will take place Friday at 12:30 p.m. at Lewis Avenue Baptist Church, 6320 Lewis Ave., Temperance, MI with visitation one hour prior.
