Loretta Lynn Thanasiu

Loretta Lynn Thanasiu, age 53, of Toledo passed away on June 6, 2024. Loretta devoted her life to her family, she loved being a mother and “Grandma Lolo”. She was warm, nurturing and caring, but was also very blunt and would tell you how it was when needed. She enjoyed baking, reading, and working with the horses at Raceway Park.

Loretta was preceded in death by her parents, Hank and Hazel Thompson; sister, Kim Norris; and grandma, Mary Hampton. She is survived by her children, Donald (Courtney) Thanasiu, Jody (Dustin) Chapman, and Kyle (Sammyia) Thanasiu; grandchildren, Carysa, Braxton, DJ, Jaxson, Hazel, Aaron, Damian, Dallas, Austin, Joselyn, Dakota, Jordan, Zoey, Logan, and Mason. Also surviving are her siblings, Jeff (Amy) Thompson, Dale (Angie) Thompson, Tim Thompson, and Tammy (Bodine) Leiter; husband, Ryan Carr; and she was Aunt Lolo to many nieces and nephews.

The family will receive guests on Wednesday, June 12, 2024 from 2:00 pm until 7:00 pm at Newcomer Funeral Home – West Sylvania Chapel, 3655 King Rd, Toledo, where a Funeral Service will begin at 7:00 pm.
