Loretta R. Losh

October 10, 1935 — December 26, 2021

Loretta (Hice) Losh, age 86, passed away peacefully on December 26, 2021, with family by her side. She was raised in Webster Springs, WV, where she met Bud, the love of her life and husband of 68 years. The two of them were married in 1953 and moved to Toledo, OH where they were blessed with four children, one daughter and three boys.

Faith played an important role in Loretta's life, and she spent her years volunteering for programs such as Feed Your Neighbor, being a Sunday school teacher, and making sure her family and friends knew the love of God. Many Sundays were spent gathering up the grandchildren to take them to Church to learn about God's love early on. An active congregation member of Christ Lutheran Church and Lutheran Church of Our Saviour, for as long as she could be, she was blessed with many wonderful friendships.

Loretta had a natural green thumb and it seemed as if she could grow the largest and most beautiful gardens without much effort. Rain or shine, you could find her in her garden with grandchildren and little dogs by her side. Animals played an important role in her life, and she instilled that in many of her children and grandchildren. Loretta was also an avid photographer and captured all the families' moments: big and small. From baseball, softball, and volleyball games to plays and dance recitals, she captured them all.

As you can see, family was most important to both Loretta and her husband, Bud, who passed away 36 hours before her on December 24, 2021.
Their love will live on through their children; Ann Brittian, Mike (Deb), and Mark (Shari); daughter-in-law, Leslie Losh; as well as their 12 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren, and 2 great-great-grandchildren; 2 sisters; 2 brothers; and many other family members and dear friends. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her son, Ken Losh; sons-in-law, Jim Brittian and Joel Frey; best friend, Nancy Lewis; and 1 sister.

There will be no visitation at this time for Loretta. A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date to honor Loretta and Bud.

Those wishing to make memorial contributions are asked to consider the Toledo Humane Society.
