Lorenz E. Webber "Larry, Blue LEW", age 63, passed away peacefully and with dignity at home on October 1, 2014. He was born on May 11, 1951 to the late Wm. Frank and Pauline "Pat" Webber in Toledo, Ohio.
Larry graduated from Whitmer High School in 1969. He was a member of the Automotive Class. Larry was active as a Webelos Leader and Scout Master with the Boy Scouts of America Pack and Troop #117 of Longfellow School. He was a recipient of the District Award of Merit. Larry was active in the Union and was a loyal Union Steward for the CWA. He was hired in at Ohio Bell at the age of 19 and retired after 40 years. Blue LEW was passionate about and respected the music community of Toledo. He felt that his music family made him a better musician and he loved them for that. He enjoyed playing his saxophones and his bass at countless events and gigs around Northwest Ohio for over two decades. Playing for many benefits was always held close to his heart. Larry was a member of Bethany Lutheran Church and strong in missions of the church and the community.
In addition to his parents, Larry was preceded in death by his brother-in-law, Michael Clark. Left to cherish his memory is his loving wife of 44 years, Patricia "Pattie"; children, Jeffery Alan (Kimberly) Webber and Phillip Andrew (Shana) Webber; sisters, Cyndy (Tom) Halley and Joyce (Mike) Webber-Swartz; sisters-in-law, Paulette (Wayne) Clark-Henderson, Kristina (Brian) Kramer and Susan (Avery) Morgan; grandchildren, Jeffrey J., Riann M., Justin M., Summer L., Colin R., Christian O., Vivian S. and Lorissa N.
The family will receive guests from 2-8:00 p.m. on Friday, October 3, 2014 at Newcomer Funeral Home, 4752 Heatherdowns Blvd., Toledo (419-381-1900). The Funeral Service will be held on Saturday at 11:00 a.m. at Bethany Lutheran Church, 3274 Upton Avenue, Toledo 43613. Friends and family may visit at church from 10-11:00 a.m. on Saturday prior to the service. Burial will be held at Whiteford Union Cemetery.
