Lonnie A. Lincoln

Lonnie A. Lincoln, age 97, of Toledo, passed away Monday, May 11, 2020. He was born on October 30, 1922 to Jim and Lizzie (Smith) Lincoln in Texarkana, Texas. Lonnie was a veteran of the U.S. Army during WWII. He was a Sergeant Federal Protection Officer for the Federal Government retiring in 1989. He loved the Lord and dedicated his life to Christ at a young age. He also served as a Deacon in his early years. Lonnie was a longtime member of Calvary Missionary Baptist Church. He attended many church functions throughout the years with his wife Obie. Lonnie enjoyed coaching baseball for his sons and was also actively involved in their sporting activities. He liked traveling and taking vacations with his family. Lonnie was an avid card player, enjoyed fishing, playing dominos, and checkers. He was an excellent cook. Lonnie often spent his free time renovating homes and helping others doing home improvements. He loved working in the yard and being outdoors. Lonnie loved spending time with his family. His smile, spirit and caring nature will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of 76 years, Obie Lincoln; son, Terry Lincoln, Sr.; grandchildren, Derrick Lincoln, Mattie Lincoln, and Errick Lincoln; and siblings, Andrew, Ruth, Claudia, Jewel, and Robert. Lonnie is survived by his son, Rhonye Lincoln, Sr.; grandchildren, Dana (John) Kelly, Karen Lincoln, Stephanie (Mike) Huggins, Terry (Andrea) Lincoln, Jr., Rhonye Lincoln, Jr., Raymond (Danielle) Lincoln, Randall Lincoln, Terrence (Bobbi) Lincoln, Sr., Donielle (Anthony) Garrett, and Nathan (Maleasha) Lincoln; daughter-in-law, Elizabeth Lincoln; a host of great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren; and also numerous beloved nieces, nephews and cousins.

Visitation and Services for Lonnie will be Private due to the environment surrounding the coronavirus. Thank you for understanding during this difficult time. Newcomer – Southwest Chapel, Toledo (419-381-1900) assisted the family with professional services.
