Lola A. Hartman, age 88, currently of Lambertville, Michigan, formerly of Charlotte Street in Toledo (for almost 60 years), passed away Thursday, March 6, 2014. She was born March 9, 1925 in Fariston, Kentucky to Stanley and Nellie (Sutton) Huff. Lola attended Coy Elementary School during the 1930's; part of the Oregon City School System where her great-grandchildren currently attend. She will be missed by Charles, her devoted husband of 66 years, whom she met while she was working at Tiedtke's Department Store and they were married December 24, 1947. Lola enjoyed playing the piano, has created many lovely oil paintings and was also a free-lance writer for the Toledo Blade.
Lola is survived by her loving and caring husband, Charles; daughter, Nola (Earl John, Jr.) Gilliland; son, David (Linda) Hartman; grandchildren, Jennyfer (Nick) Marsico, E.J. Gilliland, III, David Hartman, Jr. and Lisa (Peter) Schmidt; three great-grandchildren, Jonathan and Sophia Marsico and Dylan Schmidt.
The family will receive guests on Monday, March 10, 2014 from 12:00 – 1:00 p.m. at the Chapel of Peace at Toledo Memorial Park, 6382 Monroe St., Sylvania with Funeral Services beginning at 1:00 p.m. in the Chapel. Entombment will take place in Toledo Memorial Park.
