Lois J. Smith

Lois J. "Jean" Smith, age 90, passed away on Wednesday, June 20, 2018 at Lakes of Sylvania. She was born on August 10, 1927 to Albert and Helen Bowers in Toledo. Jean was a graduate of Whitney Vocational High School where she studied Distributive Education Retail. She worked at Tiedtkes in the accounts payable office. Jean was a homemaker throughout her life once her children came along; she enjoyed taking care of her family and spending time with them. She also enjoyed traveling, dancing, gambling and outings with the family.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, James W. Smith and son in law, David L. DeHart; siblings, Helen Ann "Chickie" Collier and Albert "Bud" Bowers. Left to cherish her memory are her children, Jane DeHart, Charlie (Patti) and Jeff (Julie) Smith; 10 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren and sister in law, Marie Bowers.

The family will receive guests on Wednesday, June 27, 2018 from 11:00 a.m. - 1:00 p.m. at Newcomer - Northwest Chapel, 4150 W. Laskey Rd. (419-473-0300) with her Funeral Service starting at 1:00 p.m. in the funeral home on Wednesday. Interment will follow in Toledo Memorial Park .
