Lois M. Konyha, 85, passed away peacefully to rejoin her loving husband, George on January 31, 2012. She was born on May 22, 1926 to the late Edmund and Catherine "Katy" Hunter in Toledo, Ohio.
Lois graduated from Libbey High School. She worked at the former Electric Auto-lite as a Key-punch Operator for over 20 years. She enjoyed occasional trips to the casino, watching old movies and political discussions. Lois married the love of her life, George in 1954; they did everything together for the 51 years they shared with each other.
In addition to her husband and parents, Lois was preceded in death by her brother, Victor "Bud" Hunter and brother-in-law, Jim Christy. Left to cherish her memory are her siblings, Jean Christy, Larry (Sharon) Hunter, Jerry (Kathleen) Hunter; nieces and nephews, Carol (Rick) Wernimont, Cathy (Rick) Bunge, Lois (Keith) Pawlicki, Larry (Margie) Hunter, Kerri (Greg) Adams, Jennifer (Keith) Robeson and 15 great-nieces and nephews.
The family will receive guests on Saturday from 3-6:00 p.m. and on Sunday from Noon-5:00 p.m. at Newcomer Funeral Home, 4752 Heatherdowns Blvd., Toledo (419-381-1900). A funeral service will be held on Sunday at 5:00 p.m. in the funeral home. Private burial.
