Lois Cole was born December 7, 1941 in Shreveport, Louisiana to Leon and Lois Clayton. She departed this life on Saturday, February 20, 2016 surrounded by her loving family.
Lois was preceded in death by her husband, Richard Cole Sr. and both parents, Leon and Lois Clayton and brothers Archie and Leon Jr.
Lois moved to South Bend, Indiana and later made her home in Toledo, Ohio with her children.
Lois was an authority on housekeeping. She believed everything had its place. No shoes under the tables, no shirts or jackets hung on the back of chairs, sweeping and cleaning countertops was done out of the force of habit. She was known for her signature golden fried chicken. Her passion was figuring out the Ohio Lottery number and listening to her music.
Her treasured memories will remain with daughters, Annette Crowley and Patricia (Roosevelt) Brown; sons, Richard Cole and Terrance Cole Sr.; brothers, Lawrence Clayton, Willie (Judy) Clayton, Howard (Mary Faye) Clayton; sisters, Ella Betts, Rose (Alvin) Landry, Dorothy Whitaker; six grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; along with a host of nieces, nephews, loving relatives and friends.
The family will receive guests from 10:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. on Saturday, February 27, 2016 at Newcomer Funeral Home, 4752 Heatherdowns Blvd., Toledo (419-381-1900). The Funeral Service will begin at 12:00 p.m. Burial will take place at Resurrection Cemetery.
