Lionel Moore, age 83, of Toledo, passed away peacefully, Thursday, June 4, 2015 at Ebeid Hospice Residence, Sylvania. He was born on May 9, 1932 to Willie and Katie (Cameron) Moore in Crosby, Mississippi. Lionel was a veteran of the U.S. Army serving his country during the Korean Conflict. He then was employed with Unicast Corporation for over many years before retiring. Lionel was an avid bowler, loved the Green Bay Packers and spending time at the VFW Post.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers, Jessie, Robert, Sammy, L.B. and Willie Moore, Jr.; uncle, Man Cameron; and daughter, Diane Williams. Lionel is survived by his sons, Lionel Michael (Lori) Moore and Bill Wayne; daughters, Claudy Moore, Joann (Dorsey) Ward and Lisa and Tamra Williams; grandchildren, Nicole Moore, Bill Wayne II, Michael, Steven and Brad Ward; great-grandchildren, Legacy, Legend and Legion; sisters, Mary Ruth (Joseph) Lewis and Katie (James) Holmes; nieces, Wendi Franklin, Kristin Holmes, Rhonda (Jerome) Marshall, Cynthia Lunn and Monica Mercadel; nephew, Damion (Tina) Holmes; and many other family members and dear friends.
The family will receive guests on Thursday, June 11, 2015 from 11:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. at Newcomer Funeral Home, 4150 W. Laskey Rd., Toledo (419-473-0300) with Funeral Services beginning at 12:00 p.m. in the funeral home. Interment will follow in Forest Cemetery.
