Lindsay Baker, Sr., passed away on October 4, 2006 with his loving family by his side. He was born on October 23, 1925 in Warrenton, GA. He was a Naval veteran of World War II and the Korean War. Mr. Baker moved to Toledo in 1955 to attend meat cutting school. He was employed at Churchill's and Kroger as a meat cutter in the late 1950's and 1960's. He later was self employed for 40 years until he retired in 2003. He loved to spend time with his grandchildren, read and watch the Detroit Tigers on TV.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Algernon and Anna Louise, brother Algernon and wife, Helenmarie. He is survived by his sons, Lindsay Jr. (Mary), Larry, Thomas (Jennifer), grandchildren, Samantha, Ean, Sean and Elizabeth, brother Donald and sisters Louise Ramsey, Estelle Crane and Corinth Dover.
Services are private and being handled by Newcomer Funeral Home (419-473-0300). The family is requesting any memorial contributions be given to Sunshine Children's Home, 7223 Maumee Western Road, Maumee, OH 43537.
