Linda Jane (Lukert) Walker
July 1, 1938 — June 10, 2023
Linda went home June 10, 2023 and was excited to reunite with her husband and mother who passed too early. Linda was born on July 1, 1938 to Otto and Donna (Wilson) Lukert in Toledo, Ohio. She met her wonderful husband Jim while in high school. They married on February 25, 1956 and started a family soon after. They went on to have five children and a small farm in Swanton.
Linda loved garage sales, her Bunco ladies and having crazy times with her friends. In her later years she traveled the country and spent the winters in Florida with her longtime companion, Carl. Linda cherished the time spent with her family, especially her children and all of her grandchildren. Her smile, spirit and caring nature will truly be missed by all who knew and loved her.
Linda will be greatly missed by her loving family, children, John, Jim, Randy (Renee) Walker, Vicki (Mark) Hoepfl and Debbie (Marty) Milford; grandchildren, Josh, Eric, and Jaime Walker; Lindsay Dodd, Kristi (Dale) Bauer, Randy Walker, Katie Hoepfl, Matthew and Zach Milford; 7 great-grandchildren; and 1 great-great-grandchild; sister, Carol (Bill) Bean; daughter-in-law, Laurie Plymale; dear friend, of 68 years who was more like a sister to her than a friend, Nancy Meyer; and many special nieces, nephews, extended family and dear friends.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her step-mother, Elizabeth "Betty" Lukert; husband, Jim Walker; friend, Carl Wandersee; brothers, John Lukert and Jerry Russell; and sisters, Mary Ann Suchoma and Mary Lou Spanoudis.
The family will receive guests on Thursday, June 15, 2023 from 3:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. at Newcomer Funeral Home – Southwest Chapel, 4752 Heatherdowns Blvd., Toledo (419-381-1900). Funeral Services will begin on Friday, June 16, 2023 at 10:30 a.m. in the funeral home with visitation on hour prior. Interment will follow in Ottawa Hills Memorial Park.
