Linda Tary, age 81, passed away on December 12, 2018. She was born on June 22, 1937 to the late Bessie and Walter Miller in Delta, Ohio.
Linda was a modeling instructor for Patricia Stevens. She went on to have a long modeling career herself. Linda was especially proud of being featured in Sports Illustrated, NewsWeek and TIME Magazine at the age of 40. Linda also worked as the Executive Secretary to the president of Unicast Company for many years.
Linda spent her summers at Devil's Lake, Michigan and was a member of the Devil's Lake Yacht Club. She was also an active member of Parkview Hospital Auxiliary, Mercy College Auxiliary and Toledo Metropolitan Ladies Club. Linda and her husband, Lee, won many dance contests as they danced their way through life. They always said, "his dance skills swept her off her feet." Linda and Lee traveled extensively around the United States together and she traveled Europe with her friends.
Left to cherish her memory is her devoted husband of 60 years, Orville "Lee"; daughters, Sandra Seiple and Tricia (Chris) Risdon; grandchildren, Elizabeth and Kathryn Seiple. Linda was preceded in death by her sister, Phyllis.
The family will receive guests on Tuesday, December 18, 2018 from 2-5:30 p.m. at Newcomer Funeral Home, 4752 Heatherdowns Blvd., Toledo (419-381-1900). The Funeral Service will begin at 5:30 p.m.
In the last years of her life, Linda loved watching her two granddaughters participate in activities through Anthony Wayne High School. She loved watching Elizabeth play tennis, and Kathryn perform in the Anthony Wayne Marching Generals Band. To honor Linda's love for her granddaughters' activities, the family requests memorials be made to either The Anthony Wayne Band Boosters or The Anthony Wayne Athletic Boosters (Tennis).
