Linda Marie Clow

May 5, 1961 — December 28, 2011

Linda Marie Clow, 50, of Toledo passed away December 28th after a valiant battle with pancreatic cancer. Linda was born on May 5, 1961 in Kansas City, MO to William W. Clow and Jane Korves Clow. Growing up, Linda lived in Shawnee Mission, KS, Grosse Pointe Woods, MI and Lincolnshire, IL. She graduated from Stevenson High School, Purdue University and University of Toledo Law School.

Linda was a happy, positive person who loved anything with a smiley face on it. She would pass out cards with a smiley face and a positive statement on it to people she ran into. Linda was also an achiever. She was a first class Girl Scout, a team starter in swimming, a pilot, and earned degrees in accounting and law. Linda was a Sgt. In the US Army and served in South Korea and Redstone Arsenal in Alabama. Linda was awarded "Soldier of the Year" for her Co., Battalion and for Redstone Arsenal itself in 1994. She was also the Alabama Governor's "Outstanding Enlisted Representative" in 1995. Linda settled in Toledo in 1997. She was the owner of Rainy Day Creations.

She was preceded in death by her grandparents, her mother, and her beloved partner, Karen Redrup. Left to cherish her memory are her parents Bill and Deb Clow from Toledo, OH, brother Bill (Lenore) Clow II of Woodstock, IL, favorite sister Patricia (Charlie) Ankrom of Bolivar, MO, step-brothers Brian Bogerson and Doug (Shelly) Bogerson, step-sisters Lori (Chris) Zaro and Mary (Ben) Bockert and many nieces and nephews who were the center of her world including Brian, Becky, Shelby, Gage, Annie, Jesse, Andrew, Hunter, Sam, Tim Abby, William, Nate, and baby Bockert, as well as others! She had many wonderful friends and neighbors – she will be missed.

The family will receive guests on Monday from 2-8pm at Newcomer Funeral Home, 4752 Heatherdowns Blvd., Toledo. Private service and burial will be at Woodlawn Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you honor Linda by wearing yellow, doing an act of kindness for a stranger and hugging your family members. Donations in her name can also be made to Nu-Vizion Church at PO Box 80145, Toledo, OH 43608 or Hospice of Northwest Ohio. The family would like to give a special thanks to the staff for the wonderful care they gave to Linda.
