Linda Louise Chubner

Linda Louise Chubner, age 83, longtime resident of Toledo, passed away on Wednesday, August 30, 2017 at Hospice of Northwest Ohio - Perrysburg, where she was surrounded by her loving family. She was born on February 4, 1934 to Clarence and Grace (Mitchell) Merickel. Linda was a graduate of Woodward High School. For many years she worked in the food service and banking industry, having worked for Toledo Trust and Commodore Perry, VERD-A-RAY, Trademark of N. American Philips Lighting Corp. and later retired from Milar Credit Union.
When Linda wasn't working, her pride and joy was raising her children and spending time with her family. When the children were younger she was their Cub Scout Leader - Pack 133 (Augsburg Lutheran Church). Having lived in West Toledo, she was the "mother" of the neighborhood; she took care of the children in the neighborhood and all the baby and injured animals, especially the squirrels and little critters; she enjoyed her garden and watching her grandchildren grow. Linda also played in various dart ball tournaments at the AmVets Post in Polish Village for many years. Her family will remember her for being a true, dedicated homemaker and a loving mother and grandmother who shared her infinite wisdom.
After retirement in 1997 she and her late husband, Frank "Skip" Chubner moved to North Port, Florida near Sarasota. Together they enjoyed the wildlife in the area and visits from family "Up North." All the activities she enjoyed while living in Ohio she brought with her to Florida such as bird watching, flower gardening and fresh-squeezed orange juice!
Left to cherish her memory are her children, Brad (Dee) Chubner, Jackie Dudley (Nathan Holden), Jeff (Sharon) Chubner, Doug Chubner and David Chubner; grandchildren, Alley (Michael) Peters, Heather (Josh) Wylie, Ryan (Dana) Chubner, Aaron (Gwen) Chubner, Sean Chubner, Nicole Chubner and Honesty Chubner; many precious great-grandchildren; brothers, Tom (Doris) Merickel and Gerry (Sharon) Merickel and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, Clarence Merickel and Grace (John) Worland; husband, Franklin "Frank" "Skip" Chubner; two infant grandchildren and two infant great-grandchildren.
Per Linda's request, her Graveside Service will be Thursday, September 7, 2017 at 1:00 p.m. in Forest Cemetery, Toledo, Ohio where she'll be laid to rest alongside her husband.
