Linda J. Boerst

Linda J. Boerst, age 74, of Sylvania, passed away peacefully Thursday, October 7, 2021 at home with loving family by her side. She was born on December 16, 1946 to Henry and Alice (Geen) Zawlocki in Muskegon, Michigan. Linda worked for the USPS for over 25 years before retiring. She was an avid reader, an excellent cook, especially of spaghetti and meatballs (not frozen). Linda enjoyed having a glass of wine. One of her biggest joys was attending her grandchildren's sporting events. She always looked forward to family gathering and entertaining at the Ranch in Petersburg, MI; their retirement home. Linda loved nothing more than spending time with friends and family but most importantly all of her grandchildren; they were truly the light of her life. Her smile, spirit and caring nature will deeply be missed by all who knew and loved her.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her loving husband of 52 years, Terry Boerst; and siblings, Sue Herzig, Robert and David Zawlocki. Left to cherish Linda's memory are her loving children, Brian Boerst, Sheryl (Steve) Catti and Tom (Carla) Boerst; grandchildren, Matthew Boerst, Chris Catti, Brandon Hook, Brian (Abby) Catti, Colin (Katie) Boerst, Sydney Boerst, Haley Catti, Alyssa Boerst and Tyler Boerst; great-grandchildren, Skylar, Destiny, and Bella; brother-in-law, Al Boerst; sister-in-law, Nancy (Don) McKenzie; and many other nieces, nephews and dear friends.

The family will receive guests on Sunday, October 17, 2021 from 3 – 7:00 p.m. at Newcomer Funeral Home – Northwest Chapel, 4150 W. Laskey Rd., Toledo (419-473-0300). Memorial Mass will take place Monday, October 18, 2021 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Joseph Parish, 628 Locust St., Toledo 43604.
