Lily Ann Sims, beloved mother, grandmother, daughter, and sister, departed this world unexpectedly on Monday, April 29, 2024, in Toledo, Ohio. Born on June 6, 1973, in Toledo, she was the daughter of James Earl Sims, Sr., and Doris Ann Sims (Carter). She was preceded in death by her father, James E. Sims, Sr and nephew Michael George Kohli, Jr.
Lily was filled with the precious gift of the Holy Ghost and was baptized in Jesus' name. She attended the Apostolic Lighthouse church, the Apostolics of Beechgrove Church, and the First Apostolic Church.
Lily's vibrant spirit illuminated the lives of all who knew her. As a child, she radiated joy and laughter, bringing smiles to the faces of those around her. Her fondest memories were of spending time with her parents and siblings, where love and laughter were abundant.
In her adulthood, Lily found her greatest joy in her role as a grandmother, or Nana. Her grandchildren were the apples of her eye, and she cherished each of them dearly.
Left to honor her memory are her three children: Brandon (Daylin) Sims, Michael (Amber) Sims, and Tiffany (Nathaniel) McBride; her adored grandchildren: Dorsie, Cameron and Becca Sims, Mikayla, Nevaeh and Michael Sims, Raelynn, Remi, Ronen, and Rhett McBride; her beloved mother, Doris A. Sims; her sisters: Angela Carter, Betty Sims, and Jamey Kohli; her brother, James E. Sims, Jr.; along with numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and countless other loved ones.
In her passing, Lily leaves behind a legacy of love, laughter, and cherished memories that will be forever etched in the hearts of those who were fortunate enough to know her.
A visitation will be on Monday, May 6, 2024 from 12:00 p.m. until 4:00 p.m. with a service immediately following, at 4:00 p.m. at Newcomer Funeral Home - Southwest Chapel at 4752 Heatherdowns Blvd. Toledo, OH 43614.
