Lilly M. Buty

Lilly M. Buty, age 83, of Toledo, passed away peacefully on Sunday, December 11, 2016. She was born on May 15, 1933 in Perry County, Ohio to Jesse and Helen (Mahaney) Thomas. Lil married John A. Buty on August 4, 1950 in Crooksville, Ohio and he preceded her in passing in September 2015. She retired from The Toledo Hospital after 31 years of service in the housekeeping department. Lil was a talented seamstress and enjoyed quilting. Most important to her was her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren; they were her pride and joy. Her family will dearly miss the Sunday family dinners that she prepared for them but they are also very thankful for the memories made from those dinners.

Lilly was preceded in death by her loving husband of 65 years, John Buty; daughter, Sandra Minkowski; granddaughter, Laura Walker; great-great-grandson, Carter; 3 sisters and 4 brothers. Left to cherish her memories are her grandchildren, Edward J. Minkowski, III, Kimberly (Frank) Netry and Timothy Minkowski; 8 great-grandchildren; brother, Junior (Judith) Thomas.

A special thanks to Kevin and Karen Gilford; Lilly's longtime neighbor of 42 years, Judy and Lilly's brother, Junior Thomas for helping out with Lil.

The family will receive guests on Thursday, December 15, 2016 from 11:00 a.m. - 1:00 p.m. at Newcomer Funeral Home, 4150 W. Laskey Rd. (419-473-0300). Funeral Services will begin in the funeral home on Thursday at 1:00 p.m. Interment will follow in Toledo Memorial Park.
