"Lil"
Lillian, age 80, of Toledo, passed away peacefully, Saturday, February 15, 2014 at Lakes of Monclova surrounded by her loving family by her side. She was born on August 10, 1933 to Raymond and Irene (Haddox) McKenzie in Monroe, Michigan. Lil worked in the retail business for many years; she was employed with Sears Credit Central, Adam Wholesalers and most recently Bakery Unlimited, where she made many friends. Lil enjoyed gardening, crafts, sewing, knitting, ceramics and family cookouts. She loved nothing more than the time spent with her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Harold Vaughn; her beloved sister the same day as Lil passed, Sandy Spencer; and brothers, Warren, James and Marion McKenzie. Lil is survived by her loving children, Karen (Dale) Sharp, Steven (Linda) Vaughn and Martin (Page) Vaughn; 5 grandchildren, Chris (Desiree), Tim (Amy), Gabriel (Ian), Lindsey (Zack) and Sam; 8 great-grandchildren, MacKenzie, Caleb, Jalen, Trinity, Marissa, Makaila, Eli and Bailey; and sisters, Nora Cousino, Laury (Arnold) Helton and Patty (Arnold) Martin; lifelong friends, Darlene Kern and Syd Gubala; special friends, Billie Fry and Shirley Cox; and many nieces, nephews and dear friends.
The family will receive guests on Thursday from 2 – 7:00 p.m. at Newcomer Funeral Home, 4150 W. Laskey Rd., Toledo (419-473-0300). Funeral Services will begin Friday at 10:30 a.m. in the funeral home. Interment will follow in Toledo Memorial Park.
