Lewis J. Tarsha, 59, of Toledo and a 1968 graduate of Woodward HS, passed away peacefully with his family at his bedside September 30, 2008 at the Toledo Hospital.
While Lou had many passions in life, his greatest devotion was to his beloved wife and family. Retired from Dept. of Job and Family Services, his interests were many. He enjoyed history, civil war, music, sports and especially the University of Toledo Basketball team, he was their official score keeper for the past 27 years. Countless memories and a lifetime of stories will linger with those who remain.
Lou was preceded in death by his father, George Sr., grandparents, Foz and Tofel Tarsha and Olive Martins and Walter Chester and many cherished aunts and uncles. He is survived by his wife of 29 years, Fran, "his girls", Molly (Suleiman) Beseiso and Megan, grandchildren, Munawar, Alia and Khaled, mother, Catherine, brothers, George Jr. (Phyllis), Sam (Barbara) ,sister , Georgetta (Nick) Vuich and many cousins, nieces, nephews, family and friends.
Visitation will be Friday 2-8:00 p.m. at Newcomer Funeral Home, 4150 W. Laskey Rd. (419-473-0300). Friends and family will gather Saturday at 9:15 a.m. at the funeral home and will proceed to Our Lady of Lourdes Church, 6149 Hill Ave. for a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 a.m.
