Lester E. Pierce, Jr. age 87, of Toledo, passed away November 24, 2016 at Hospice of Northwest Ohio Toledo. He was born June 20, 1929 in Toledo to Lester Sr. and Margaret (Utz) Pierce. Lester attended the University of Toledo for two years and then served in the US Army during the Korean War. Lester was employed with Owens Illinois Glass Company for more than 36 years as a Supervisor retiring in 1984. He bowled in the OI league and served as the official score keeper for children's bowling league at the Colony. He was chairman of the annual OI picnic at Cedar Point. Lester enjoyed playing softball and bow hunting for deer in the Upper Penisula of Michigan. He was a member and Past President of the Onized Club (69) and Toledo Transportation Club in Toledo, Ohio.
Lester is survived by his wife of 62 years, Elizabeth "Betty" Corby Pierce; children, Deborah (Lloyd) Bowser, James L. Pierce, Nancy (Michael) Bloom, Steven C. Pierce, Connie Keiser and John M. Pierce; 12 grandchildren and 25 great-grandchildren. In addition to his parents, Lester was preceded in death by his brother and sister.
