LeRoy was born on September 5, 1924 and died on October 23, 2013. LeRoy served in the Coast Guard in in World War II. He married Gladys Metzger in 1948 and she died in 1976. He completed a business degree at University of Toledo. LeRoy worked for different truck lines for many years; his last career was with Washington Local Schools as a fireman.
He was a member of Salem Lutheran Church for 60+ years. He was instrumental in bringing the Feed Your Neighbor Program to Salem as well as helping establish the Agape Meals Program at Salem. Both of these programs continue to help those in need. He also volunteered for Market Basket at L.S.S. for 15 years.
At 58 LeRoy met Cathy and they married in 1983. They have worked together for 30 years helping others. LeRoy was a tough guy to know but once you knew him you couldn't help but see what a big heart he had and how much he cared about those in need.
Surviving LeRoy is his wife Cathy; his children, Jeff (Anita) St. Clair, Dorcas St. Clair, Joy (Stan) Palmer and Cristinia St. Clair; grandchildren, Jenna, Chris, Nathan and Morgan; two great-grandchildren; mother in law, Phyllis Spencer; sister in laws, Cindy (Paul) Williams and Christine Haydock; many nieces, nephews and his Agape Harem. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife, Gladys; brother, Wally.
The family will receive guests on Monday, October 28, 2013 from 4-8:00 p.m. at Newcomer Funeral Home, 4150 W. Laskey Rd. (419-473-0300). Funeral Services will begin in the funeral home on Tuesday at 11:00 a.m. with visitation one hour prior.

The best memorial you can give to remember LeRoy is to hug those you love everyday and to remember, we are all our brothers' keeper.
