Leonard A. Mahlman, age 70, of Sylvania, passed away peacefully, Saturday, January 17, 2015 at Ebeid Hospice Residence. He was born on November 2, 1944 to Orval and Alice (Kurth) Mahlman. Leonard was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force serving his country in the Vietnam War. He worked for The Andersons in the Engineering Department for 35 years before retiring. Leonard enjoyed helping family, friends and neighbors with any projects or needs. He was a longtime member of the NRA. Leonard loved fishing, gardening, woodworking and spending time with family and friends.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Wade Mahlman; sister, Kathy (Mahlman) Warner; and infant niece, Loretta Webb. Leonard is survived by his loving wife of 48 years, Carolyn Mahlman; daughters, Janetta (Adan) Garcia, Jennifer (Andre) Mahlman-Ribuoli and Ellen (Jim) Fendley; grandchildren, Brandon Wesley and Taylor Fendley. He was known as Sonny to his surviving sisters, RuthAnn (Bob) Wood, Gloria Webb and Dawn Mahlman; many nieces and nephews.
The family will receive guests on Saturday, January 24, 2015 from 2 – 4:00 p.m. at Newcomer Funeral Home, 4150 W. Laskey Rd., Toledo (419-473-0300) with Funeral Services beginning at 4:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
